You may know that I run a dayhome during the week so my photography is on the weekends. One of my dayhome boys has been with me over 2.5 years, I’m pretty close with the family. He and his mom recently welcomed his baby sister, Amlynn.
My dayhome family is really like family to me, I was so excited when I heard about the pregnancy. The gender was to be a surprise for mom but since I had plans for some special big brother photos, I was the only person to know who we were waiting for. Hardest thing in the world to not slip up and say anything! He recently started talking more so I had to be careful with him too, daily and for months.
I gifted maternity photos to them and after the mom and son portion, mom left and I did the special big brother photos with little man. He didn’t know he was getting a sister, I made sure not to say words he could repeat to mom. He just knew he was having fun and playing with balloons and paint. We used pink paint with mom too so I knew if he said pink it wouldn’t have given anything away.
The wait for Amlynn was long, but she arrived early in April and I could finally share the photos with mom, she loved them!
I felt like I knew Amlynn already, when mom text me to say she arrived I teared up. I knew she was so beautiful before we ever saw her little face.
Not only do we adore her, big brother surprised us and is going to be her best friend for life, he just loves her.
Here are a few of the maternity, big brother and then her newborn photos.
The last image was the stretch after being unwrapped!
